MIR Campus
Children playing outdoors, hopscotch, climbing trees and in the grass, having a good time and getting out their wiggles during recess.

MIR IS LOCATED AT:
1890 Orange Avenue, Redlands, CA 92373

The campus is situated in the middle of a 12-acre grapefruit grove, divided east to west by the Morrey Arroyo. It is built in a village style consisting of one main building on the south side of the arroyo, and three smaller buildings on the north, connected by a pedestrian bridge.

THE MAIN BUILDING HOUSES SEVEN CLASSROOMS:

  • Three Toddler (ages 18 months to 3 years)
  • Three Primary (ages 3 to 6 years)
  • One Elementary (ages 6 to 12 years)
  • The administration offices
  • A community-use room (yoga, piano, meetings, naps)
THE NORTH CAMPUS CLASSROOMS INCLUDE:
  • Two Primary
  • Two Elementary (ages 6 to 6th grade)

Each individual building houses two classrooms, a shared kitchen, bathroom, and office loft.

The outdoor environment is an important extension of the classroom environment; therefore, it is appropriately planned to ensure beauty, safety, learning opportunities, and physical development for the children, as well as fostering respect and appreciation of the natural world and its creatures. The campus is graced with gardens, play areas, walkways, benches, and picnic tables. A large soccer field and play court (basketball, volleyball) are located on the north campus.

"When the child goes out, it is the world itself that offers itself to him. Let us take the child out to show him real things instead of making objects which represent ideas and closing them up in cupboards."--Maria Montessori
