February Highlights
February brings several opportunities for parents to take a careful look at our programs both to understand your child's current education and to asses the next step for children ready to "move up."
Learn about Hershey Montessori School's Adolescent Program, Thursday, February 18, 7 p.m.
Laurie Ewert-Krocker, Head Teacher at the Hershey Montessori Farm School, will talk to interested parents about Hershey’s internationally acclaimed Montessori boarding program for students ages 12-15. Curious parents and Elementary students are encouraged to attend.
Journey & Discovery, Saturday, February 20, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
MIR and Grove Farm and High School will host Journey & Discovery, a hands-on seminar that lets you explore the full Montessori curriculum from 18 months to 18 years. The day starts with a journey through classrooms spanning the entire Montessori curriculum from toddlers to teenagers to get a feel for the Montessori prepared educational environment. Parents will then split into the track of their choice to fully discover the curriculum for ages 18 months to 6th grade, or 1st grade through 12th grade. This second half will include hands-on learning and an opportunity to talk with teachers at all levels about what happens in the classroom each day. Register in the office or call 793-6989.
Elementary Orientation, Saturday, Monday, February 22
Head of School Maura Joyce leads parents through the Elementary Orientation. This program is for parents of 5 and 6 year olds who may be ready for the Elementary program starting September 2010 or January 2011. Look for a special invitation in your parent folder. This event is by invitation only.
