The Adolescents
at MIR engage in supervised practice of adult activities.
Managing their own business and creating their own classroom "bill
of rights" gives them the opportunity to experience money
management, apply their academic skills, and create a governmental
structure. During a time of rapid physical and emotional
growth, students feel "at home" in this self-contained
learning environment. In addition to rigorous academics,
the program provides key experiences for students to develop
their personal identity and self-expression, build community,
serve others and learn the ways of society and the natural
world.
